Some of Bluecoat's retailers will be open from Monday 15 June. Retailers will be operating reduced opening hours and we recommend you contact individual shops for details. Our galleries, cafe and building remain closed at this time.

Located in the heart of Liverpool's shopping district, the Bluecoat houses a number of specialist independent retailers offering an eclectic range of beautifully designed handmade and unique products.

Stocking the best in contemporary craft, design, music, fashion and homewares, the shops at the Bluecoat should be your first destination in the city for the unique and the unusual. Use the links on the left hand side and below to see what each of our ten retailers make, sell and do.

Take our Philosopher in Residence Survey

The University of Liverpool are carrying out a survey into the Philosopher-in-Residence programme that was held at Bluecoat last year.

Here they explain why they want to hear from participants:

"If you attended, or wanted to attend, any of the events related to the Philosopher-in-Residence programme at Bluecoat, we would be grateful if you completed this short online survey. We really appreciate your feedback.

The aim of the residency was to develop a new approach to engaging audiences in philosophical reflection, specifically in contemporary art spaces. We would be grateful if you could tell us how successful you thought the programme was in achieving its aims. The purpose of this survey is to evaluate the broad range of public engagement activities that were conducted during the residency.

It is very important for us to know what you think about the role of the arts and humanities in society, and the contribution of the residency in this respect, especially given the current climate of economic austerity.

Thank you for your feedback."

If you would like to participate in the survey, please find the link below:
