This exhibition is the result of a twelve week crafts programme at the Bluecoat. Young people aged between 16-25 took part in 6 taster workshops in different crafts and then selected one to specialise in for six weeks. Local artists and volunteers worked with the young people to create the beautiful hand crafted pieces featured in this exhibition, using traditional book binding, embroidery and print making techniques.

Hand on Crafts is a Voluntary Arts programme, funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, to encourage intergenerational sharing of traditional amateur craft skills.
