Help Bluecoat and enable more audiences to enjoy contemporary art

Do you go to new music concerts, contemporary dance performances, new writing in a theatre, or contemporary art galleries? Whether that's something you do all the time or once in a blue moon, we want to hear from you!

Bluecoat is working together with researchers at the University of Sheffield and Newcastle University and arts organisations across the country to better understand audiences for the contemporary arts. The study will lead to the production of a handbook which will be freely shared with arts organisations across the country, to help them inspire more people to enjoy different kinds of contemporary arts.

We are looking for audiences members to take part in an interview with our researcher, Dr Sarah Price. It will last around 45 minutes and Sarah will ask questions such as: what kind of arts events do you go to? How did you become interested in the arts? What do the arts mean to you?

There are no right or wrong answers and there is no need to prepare anything. We just want to hear your thoughts and experiences.

If you are interested in taking part, please click here to fill out the form and register your interest, which should only take a few minutes to complete. We may not be able to interview everyone who signs up, but Sarah will be in touch either way.

Find out more about the project at http://www.sparc.dept.shef.ac.uk/uaca/ or email laura.s@thebluecoat.org.uk

Your contact details will be kept securely and accessed only by the research team for the sole purpose of inviting you to an interview. Data of respondents who do not subsequently take part in an interview will be destroyed at the end of the project (October 2019). If you are concerned about how your data will be used, please contact the researcher Dr Sarah Price at s.price@sheffield.ac.uk. This research has been approved by the University of Sheffield's research ethics committee.
