The Giant Spectacular 2018 - Travel Information

With just a day to go until we give a warm welcome to the Giant Spectacular, you may want to consider planning your journeys to and from the area in advance while the event is on (Thursday 4 – Sunday 7 October).

Please make sure you’re aware of any planned road closures or changes to public transport that could affect your route, and give yourself plenty of time to travel, as it will be very busy.

We recommend that you:

  • Plan your journey to and from carefully.
  • Check timetables in advance.
  • Consider all the options of travel available to you.
  • Allow more time for your journey.
  • Keep in the loop with social media for the most up-to-date travel information each day.

Road closures and transport changes

These include certain:

  • Road closures
  • Bus station closures
  • Merseyrail station closures
  • Tunnel Closures

Please stay updated, check details of transport times and any diversions through the links at the bottom of this email.

Alternative Travel options

Those thinking about alternative ways to travel to and from affected areas may want to consider other options, including:

  • Mersey Ferry commuter service - running as per normal. Please see Mersey Ferries for further information.
  • Cycle – If you haven’t got your own bike, you could hire one! City Bike is available across the city.
  • Walk – if you live close enough.

Remember to check travel information prior to heading in to the event.
