October Half Term at Bluecoat

This October Half Term we've lined up a whole host of great activities for you and your family. Join the party and enjoy art, comedy, storytelling and dance. Then head over to our Cafe, where children’s lunch-boxes are available, before a quick run-around in the garden!

Children's Corner / Open Daily

Suitable for all ages

Bluecoat is a family-friendly venue with ground floor baby-changing facilities. Visit our exhibition, play in the garden, follow our gallery trail and join in our family-friendly activities. Open daily, our Children's Corner provides activities to keep you and your little ones happy with self-guided activities and storybooks.

Mon - Sat / 9am - 6pm

Sundays / 11am - 6pm

Cafe & Courtyard / Open Daily

As well as being a centre for the contemporary arts, Bluecoat is the perfect location for fresh, local food and drink, right in the city centre. We serve hearty, warming, homemade food in our Espresso Cafe, with plenty of additonal seating upstairs in a relaxed environment. Our Espresso Cafe is located in the ground floor Hub. We offer barista coffee, leaf teas, craft ales, wines and soft drinks. We have a wide selection of freshly made sandwiches, salads, homemade cakes and biscuits.  If the sun is shining take your food and drink outside and relax in our beautiful garden, which offers a peaceful retreat from the summer crowds.

Mon - Sat / 9am - 6pm

Funny Looking Kids / Sat 20 Oct 2.30 - 4pm

Ages 7+ suggested (but we had a 5 year old laugh so hard they fell off their chair. All children must be accompanied by an adult.)

Liverpool's first regular comedy club for kids (and their invited guests/handlers…) crashes into the Bluecoat with its usual jokes, sketches, quizzes & mayhem! From the first sketch to the final joke competition, Funny Looking Kids: Comedy Club is a rag tag bag of tomfoolery and nonsense.

Free, drop in.

The Bell Tree by Serena Korda / Off-site at Speke Hall until Sun 28 Jul / Open Daily 10.30am – 4pm

Set in Speke Hall’s ancient woodlands and grounds, The Bell Tree draws on the hall’s hidden history. Korda reconsiders aspects of communion and tradition, including underexplored feminist narratives or ‘herstories’ and alternative histories of folklore and witchcraft. The public commission is at Speke Hall, with a smaller element  installed in Bluecoat's garden.
