Meet Linny Venables: Print Studio Manager

This month we're thrilled to welcome Linny Venables to our print studio as our Print Studio Manager. A practicing artist herself, Linny brings a wealth of experience to the studio.

Linny’s artistic practice is very process led, working in glass, print, paint and video. Taking inspiration from programs such as ‘How It’s Made’, Linny enjoys experimenting with layering and transforming materials from one state to another. She recently exhibited an installation at CBS Gallery: shop.

Linny also works in collaboration with artist Gregory Herbert on an ongoing project called ‘The Offy’. They support artists by creating and selling designed one-offs and limited edition merchandise at affordable prices, from screen-printed T-shirts, to Blackpool rock.

Linny enjoys the element of surprise when using the 100-year-old printing press in the Intaglio studio – the excitement of the ‘big reveal’ when you first see your design after it has been through the press.

She’s looking forward to the creativity and experimentation of working with others in the Print Studio, as well as encouraging people to be playful and subversive of traditional printing techniques.

Want to use our Print Studio yourself? After completing an introductory 1-day course, you can hire the space out to work on your own projects. Head over to our Print Studio page to discover more about our introductory courses, including introductions to printmaking, etching and linocut.
