The Bluecoat has appointed Mexico based artist, Wendell McShine as part of the Liverpool Primary Care Trust's artist in residence project.
His project; 'Art Connect Liverpool' brings together two distinct groups within the Liverpool community. Wendell will work with Blue Room, our group of adults with learning disabilities and a group of young people out in Norris Green’s the Pad project.
Wendell's project focuses on a series of dynamic art workshops; animation documentation, mask making, drawing and graffiti - all aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of the participants, with a strong emphasis on raising the aspirations of young people.
Wendell said: "This enriching exploration into the personal stories of the youth and the adults will be guided by the topic of self-awareness in an attempt to bridge the generational gap and promote self discovery and community togetherness.”
Look out for a group exhibition of the work here in March.
