Art centres support GIT award

The winner of the Bluecoat-sponsored GIT award is announced at LEAF tomorrow night (Friday)

Founded by Liverpool ECHO journalist Peter Guy, the GIT award celebrates the finest new recordings in the last 12 months on Merseyside.

The award has been well supported by Liverpool's creative organistations with Sam Venables from Royal Standard crafting the award.

Peter said: "It's great to be working in partnership with creative organistations such as the Bluecoat and Royal Standard. There's a thriving, incredible arts scene in Liverpool and many of the artists work with the music scene all the time so it seemed only natural for the GIT Award to celebrate this partnership."

The GIT Award 2012 shortlist is:

Bang On

Ex-Easter Island Head

Forest Swords

Loved Ones

Miss Stylie

Mugstar

Outfit

Ninetails

Bill Ryder-Jones

Stealing Sheep

The Tea Street Band

Esco Williams
