The creative process is often a mysterious one. Where do artists get their inspiration? How long does it take to make a one off piece of jewellery? These questions and more will be answered during the first open studios weekend at the Bluecoat.

The building is becoming increasingly animated as our community of artists, creative businesses and retailers make their spaces their own and this is the first chance visitors will have to see them at work in their own environment.

You'll also have the opportunity to buy and commission work directly from the artists and makers - what better way to become the owner of a unique piece of art and design than getting to know the person who created it.
