The Bluecoat’s new literature programme will host authors from the city and farther afield throughout the Capital of Culture year and beyond. The Bluecoat is delighted to welcome novelist Jeanette Winterson and poet Tom Paulin to Liverpool to kick off the exciting March-May literature programme of events.

Poet and critic Tom Paulin will discuss his new book, The Secret Life of Poems, which examines the inner workings of a number of famous and lesser known poems. Paulin will discuss how the structure of individual poems reveal their beauty and the wider context of the time in which they were written – copies of the poems under discussion will be distributed to the audience. This is an unmissable opportunity to hear a selection of classic works come alive in the company of one of contemporary poetry’s finest talents.
