Breaking the Habit: Brush Up Your Technique with Helen Farish - Workshop

Helen Farish
Date: Thursday, 09 October 2008 | 11:00am - 4:30pm
Location: Various
Ticket Prices: £45/£35
Whether you have been writing poetry for a long time or are relatively inexperienced, this workshop will help you focus on your technique. Looking at the close relationship between writing and reading, contemporary American and British poems will be used as examples to reveal your own methods. Helen Farish is a lecturer in Creative Writing at Lancaster University and has previously taught at Sheffield Hallam University. Her debut collection of poetry, Intimates, won the Forward Prize for best first collection in 2005 and was also shortlisted for the T S Eliot Prize.
