Summer Explore activities

Great news for children and parents! We're extending our Explore sessions for the summer to every day from Saturday 25 July right through to Bank Holiday Monday 31 August. So if you're looking for a fun day out with free activities, look no further. With our lovely garden and a range of family friendly facilities and refreshments on offer, it's perfect for a family visit.

Our explore sessions will have a focus on painting throughout the Slow Magic exhibition. Go and explore the paintings in the galleries, and then come back to the Hub and make some art of your own with help from our artists and volunteers.

A selection box of fun family activities is also available to borrow seven days a week from the Tickets and Information desk (during gallery opening hours, 10.00am - 6.00pm). You can also get taster activities from our Information Assistants in the galleries who will be happy to talk you through them.

Enjoy family friendly food Upstairs at the Bluecoat. Little explorers welcome.

A special menu and activities for children between 2 and 12 years old is available daily in the restaurant bar, Upstairs at the Bluecoat.

Choose one main course, a drink and a dessert for £4.85

Choices include Macaroni cheese bake, vanilla ice cream with hot chocolate sauce and Apple juice.
