Led by the Bronx-born, Swiss-based, itinerant US drummer Steve Reid, The Steve Reid Ensemble consists of an impressive international crew of leading musicians and Reid's key collaborator, acclaimed electronica artist, Kieran Hebden (Four Tet).
Reid begun his recording career playing on Martha Reeves' Dancing in the Street and has played with everyone from Miles Davis, Fela, Sun Ra, and Jackie McLean to Dionne Warwick, and James Brown.

Hebden's multiple sampler set-up adds abstract melodies and riff's to the band's African-influenced free jazz sound, adding a powerful experimental edge to the live show.
