Liverpool Improvisation Collective
Andrea Buckley, Paula Hampson and Mary Prestidge are dance artists whose work spans five decades. For the past fifteen years their practice has been centred in Liverpool. They also travel and work nationally and internationally as performers, project leaders and teachers.
They have devised projects, courses, conferences and festivals over the years not only to support and develop their own work but also to help build an infrastructure and community of dancers within this region.
The essential use of the space is about their creative practice as dance makers and performers. They each have different approaches to their work but they share a common language and history relating to western contemporary dance in terms of its development, status and infrastructure.
Open studios, dance video events, discussion and performance will create opportunities to promote their work further through publishing visual, video and written artefacts.
This artist led designated space allows them to bring people together: To meet, exchange and share ideas and practices, creating a forum for dialogue and debate.
