Jobs

The Bluecoat is Liverpool’s Centre for Contemporary Arts receiving over 500,000 visits annually. With a year-round programme of visual art exhibitions and a range of music, dance, literature and live art events, we are a leading exponent of artistic excellence in the city.

We are committed to nurturing and showcasing talent and home to a vibrant community of 34 creative practitioners and cultural businesses, including individual artists, designers, craft-makers and retailers.

As the oldest arts centre in Britain, we are conservators of a rich history. Our focus is on increasing access, inviting everyone into our landmark building, the oldest in Liverpool city centre, to engage with current artistic practice, to discover exciting contemporary work and to meet the creators behind it, through a full programme of participative opportunities.

We work with people at the most vulnerable edges of society, as well as those at the centre of the cultural world, and pride ourselves on doing so with equity, warmth and respect.

As part of a major reorganisation, we are seeking five exceptional individuals to undertake pivotal roles in our new Engagement and Resource units.

Front of House Manager, 40 hours, Salary: £22,000 to start rising to £25,000 based on performance.

This is a vital new role in the re-visioning of the Bluecoat’s approach to the experience it provides for visitors. Working alongside colleagues in the newly formed Engagement unit, you will be operational lead on all aspects of front-of-house management at the Bluecoat, helping to shape and then implementing a consistent and distinctive ‘Bluecoat approach’ across key customer-facing functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is a team-player with a passion for excellent customer service, a commitment to making the arts accessible and high levels of attention to detail to make their mark.
