Sense of Sound at Glastonbury

Sense of Sound choir The Sense of Sound choir, one of the creative industry occupiers based at the Bluecoat, are excitedly preparing to open the Jazz World Stage on Sunday 29 June at this year's Glastonbury Festival.

North Liverpool school children Hundreds of North Liverpool school children visited the Bluecoat on Tuesday 10 June, to meet Children's Laureate, Michael Rosen. As we head into summer we have lots more events for families and young visitors coming up.

Acoustic Ladyland We have an exciting and diverse programme of events this week. From Fiction Reading with Damon Galgut & Mike McCormack on Thursday, to Common Culture's Bouncers filling the galleries on Friday. In music we have Acoustic Ladyland (pictured), and then a weekend of Live art from Australia's Rosie Dennis.

 

Espresso evening opening

the Hub Upstairs at the Bluecoat, the restaurant bar located on the first floor of the building remains temporarily closed following a fire in May. Upstairs at the Bluecoat will reopen once restoration of the restaurant and kitchen is complete.

Espresso, located in th Hub, will produce daily special salads, high quality afternoon teas with finger sandwiches, mini cakes and scones and will be serving drinks that can be enjoyed in the Hub or the garden. 

Design Show Liverpool 2 for 1 offer

Design Show Liverpool Some of the newest makers at the Bluecoat are showcasing their work to a national audience at this year’s Design Show Liverpool (19 - 22 June). Contemporary jeweller Anthony Wong, textile artist Nawal Gebreel and luxury leather goods brand Nook and Willow are all participating in the event, the first of its kind to be held in the city.

Cherie Blair and Les Murray On Wednesday 4 June we have two exciting and diverse literature events. At 6.00pm Cherie Blair will discuss her memoir Speaking for Myself. And then at 8.00pm renowned Australian poet Les Murray will read from his fascinating work. Both will sign books in the Hub.
