To really make the building a vibrant hub for contemporary culture, we are now searching for one of the key elements of the Bluecoat – the creative people and companies that will base themselves in the building when we reopen in early 2008.

When we took Joan Gibbons, a member of Orrell Park Community Centre’s over-50s group, to Liverpool Culture Company update meeting recently, she stood up and shared her experience of being involved in the ‘Good Neighbours’ project:
New people
In the build-up to reopening early next year, the team at the Bluecoat is expanding rapidly. Since our last newsletter we have taken on seven new staff members, all of whom have joined the existing team to bring the amazing transformation of the Bluecoat together for early 2008.
Liverpool Arabic Arts Festival 2007
For the last six years, the Bluecoat has been proud to manage the Liverpool Arabic Arts Festival, the only one of its kind in the UK, which is now firmly established as a popular event on the city's cultural calendar.
