The Bluecoat is developing the oldest building in Liverpool city centre as an exciting arts, heritage, cultural business and retail complex for the 21st Century. This £12.5 million scheme will secure the future of one of the city's best-loved buildings, retaining its special qualities whilst addressing its much-needed access and accommodation problems.

Liverpool Debates 2007
Liverpool thrives because of outsiders and its economic recovery is here to stay. Those were the verdicts of the first two Liverpool Debates of a series of five organised by the Bluecoat, supported by Liverpool Culture Company and Liverpool Echo in association with BBC Radio Merseyside, which took place in May and June.
Calling Creative Talent

To really make the building a vibrant hub for contemporary culture, we are now searching for one of the key elements of the Bluecoat – the creative people and companies that will base themselves in the building when we reopen in early 2008.

New people
In the build-up to reopening early next year, the team at the Bluecoat is expanding rapidly. Since our last newsletter we have taken on seven new staff members, all of whom have joined the existing team to bring the amazing transformation of the Bluecoat together for early 2008.
