Expressions of interest: Bluecoat Platform

We're seeking expressions of interest from artists, performers, comedians, dancers, makers, musicians, workshop leaders and everyone in between to run short, public workshops or performances for children this summer.

This is a paid opportunity.

We’ll be handing over the selection process to children from our Out of the Blue after school clubs. They’ll be looking for fun, high quality entertainment that captures their attention and imagination. The events will take place on and around Bluecoat Platform, a large outdoor sculpture / artwork by artists Simon & Tom Bloor that has been co-designed by children from Out of the Blue.

Bluecoat Platform will be situated in our front courtyard from mid-May onwards and is central to our outdoor summer events programme. Click here to find out more information about Bluecoat Platform.

We're looking for performers from a range of experience levels and perspectives. We're also interested to hear from those people looking to expand their practice, so please don't be put off if you haven't worked in this area before. Sessions need to be accessible for children aged between 5 and 11 and we anticipate an audience of between 10 - 20 children per session.

Performances and activities can vary in length but ideally will last between 20 - 40 minutes. All sessions will take place outside, on and around the Bluecoat Platform.

Click here to find out more about the selection process and how to apply.

Please send a CV and your one minute video to platformprogramme@thebluecoat.org.uk by 12pm on Monday 3 May.

Please outline in your email your availability between 19 July and 16 August 2021.
