The Bluecoat is the oldest building in Liverpool City Centre, dating back to the early 18th Century. It has UNESCO world heritage status and is an elegant, Grade 1 listed building, with a fascinating history.
Something new...
Since the building reopened in 2008 after a programme of conservation, restoration and new build, the Bluecoat has established itself as Liverpool’s creative arts hub for the 21st Century.
With state-of-the art facilities and flexible spaces, we offer a range of rooms, mixing historic features with a modern, creative edge. We also have an attractive garden and courtyard to give your wedding something extra.
Something borrowed....
Being an innovative centre for contemporary visual and performance art, we haven’t borrowed much from traditional wedding venues, apart from excellent service, attention to detail and quality.
Something blue...
If you are looking for something really different, the Bluecoat presents a genuinely unique setting and service for your wedding, civil partnership ceremony, and/or reception.
Being creative is what we do best. To make your big day special, we offer a variety of packages to suit all budgets. We can also work with you to create something bespoke: a drinks reception in the courtyard garden; a wedding breakfast or evening reception in our bright and airy restaurant, Upstairs at the Bluecoat; dancing ‘til late in our high-tech performance space.
Our creative retail partners sell an amazing array of hand-crafted items, like engraved rings, paper-flower decorations and crocheted wedding bunting.
We provide an event manager to make sure that you and your guests enjoy a relaxed day of fun and laughter in Liverpool’s most creative setting.
