Talks & Tours
Our arts and heritage programmes are supported by regular talks and tours to give you an insight into the Bluecoat and the artists whose work is presented here. Our talks and tours are interactive with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and generate discussion.
Talks
Talks in the gallery at the Bluecoat provide a great opportunity to meet visiting artists, curators and critics. Typically we discuss art works on display and guest speakers give valuable insight into the significance of artists’ work. The talks are free and are quite informal so you can ask all those tricky questions to find out how and why and artist made something the way they did.

Heritage Tours
The Bluecoat is the oldest building in Liverpool city centre and has a rich heritage as a centre for the arts and education. Our guided tour explores the origins of the building as a school, the turbulent years of uncertainty before the establishment of the Bluecoat Society of Arts and the development of its international reputation as a centre for contemporary arts.
Guided tours lasting approximately 45 minutes are available on request for groups of 10 people or more. For more information contact info@thebluecoat.org.uk.
Tours are free but we are always pleased to accept donations. The tours can easily be timed to accommodate lunch or tea in the Upstairs bistro afterwards.
