Upstairs Bistro
Upstairs at the Bluecoat is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a freshly prepared meal in a creative setting. Situated on the first floor, we offer wonderful city views as well as the very best in locally sourced produce.
With contemporary local art adorning the walls, creative table cloths and thoughtfully selelcted music, Upstairs is the perfect place to entertain friends or perhaps enjoy a romantic meal for two in the very heart of cultural Liverpool.
The Upstairs bistro is located on the first floor which may be accessed through the front entrance and turning left immediately. Pass the Tickets and Information desk and continue towards the glass doors. The lift is situated behind the doors to the left hand side and the bistro is located on the second floor. Alternatively you may access the bistro from the courtyard through the historic staircase side entrance by following the chalkboard sign.

11.30am - 4pm, Monday - Sunday
The Upstairs bar will be open until the end of the interval on performance nights unless otherwise stated (please see performance pages for details).
Host your Christmas at the Bluecoat
For the first time the Bluecoat is opening its doors for exclusive bookings for the festive season. Bookings are now being taken for local businesses and organisations to host their annual Christmas festivities in the beautiful surroundings of the Bluecoat.
Throughout November and December we are offering you the opportunity to reserve and host your annual Christmas party within the historic surroundings of the bistro Upstairs at the Bluecoat. From drinks and canapés to formal dining we can provide you with whatever you need to make sure Christmas 2011 will be a memorable occasion for all concerned.
The Bluecoat is a grade one listed building, Liverpool city centre’s oldest building and the UK’s oldest art centre. It is centrally located and an ideal venue for all transport and taxi links.
This Christmas we can offer you exclusive use of a unique, self contained event space and a bespoke menu so you can tailor your party to meet your organisation’s needs. Along with warm and friendly staff who take pride in delivering a top quality service at a price you can afford.
