Garden at the Bluecoat

Garden View

When Bluecoat re-opens in time for 08, access to the gardens will be greatly improved. The introduction of three levels will improve people’s ability to move around the gardens, alongside new outdoor performance spaces and more informal areas, which will help to retain the garden’s special character.

New plans include the creation of a woodland garden and the planting of trees with interesting structures and winter bark varieties such as Snake Bark. The design for the new gardens has been created by a team of experts including, Brenda Evans, the Bluecoat’s volunteer gardener for the past 30 years, who has provided invaluable advice and expertise.
