Liverpool Debates 2007

Have you had your say yet?
Liverpool thrives because of outsiders, its economic recovery is here to stay and multiculturalism has failed along with traditional politics. Those were the verdicts of the first four Liverpool Debates of a series of five organised by the Bluecoat, supported by Liverpool Culture Company and Liverpool Echo in association with BBC Radio Merseyside, which took place in May, June, July and September.
The five free Liverpool Debates provide a taster for the Bluecoat’s role as a place for ideas, debate and innovative thinking when we re-open in early 2008.
The five hot topics to be debated in this extraordinary 800th birthday year, were chosen by Liverpool Echo readers in an online poll, which saw over 3000 votes cast.
The first four live debates have been incredibly popular with members of the public wanting to hear expert debate and to have their own say in question and answer sessions and post-debate voting.
