The Bluecoat intends to bring a high profile international literature dimension to Liverpool’s 08 programme and will deliver a year-round programme of events across the literature spectrum, taking in readings, talks, debates, launches, workshops and residencies; and partnerships with other literature organisations who want to present their programmes at the Bluecoat.

Next year will also see the Bluecoat developing its publications profile, with the reprint of Art in a City (Autumn 2007) and a companion volume, both providing a historical/critical context for the visual arts in Liverpool during 2008, and both produced in collaboration with Liverpool University Press, with whom we are also working on books which support our artistic programme.
