Wanted - Seven sets of identical twins for major performance piece.

The Bluecoat is looking for seven pairs of identical adult twins to take part in a breathtaking performance piece for the European Capital of Culture year and the climax of the Bluecoat’s live art series for the Liverpool Biennial.

Working with seven pairs of identical twins from Liverpool and its German twin city of Cologne, German choreographer and performance artist, Angie Hiesl, and visual and performance artist Roland Kaiser will create a stunning work that lies between art exhibition and live performance.

TWINS… will explore the unusual relationships of identical twins, the mysterious phenomenon of doppelgangers and issues like genetics, identity and human cloning.

The Bluecoat is seeking identical UK twins to help them realise this ambitious new piece. Auditions will take place on Saturday 23rd February 2008 with possible recalls on 24th.

The majority of the rehearsal period will take place 1st – 20th November 2008 (performers will need to be available at regular times throughout this period although will not be required full time) and performances will take place in Liverpool on 21st – 23rd November 2008.

Applicants must be over 18.  Some performance experience is preferable but by no means essential. The Bluecoat will be able to cover participant’s costs.
