About the Bluecoat
The Bluecoat is the oldest Grade 1 listed building in central Liverpool and re-opened in March 2008, after a £14.5m redevelopment, as a major landmark on the UK map of contemporary culture. The Bluecoat uses its spaces to showcase talent across all creative disciplines including visual art, music, literature, dance and live art and is a hub for new talent, providing studio spaces for artists within a unique creative community.
Surrounding the front courtyard and the garden, independent retailers offer beautifully designed, hand-made gifts. You can grab an illy coffee, a Jing leaf tea, sandwiches and soup from Espresso in the Hub, or located on the first floor, Upstairs at the Bluecoat offers locally produced, seasonal food together with a great wine list and children’s menu. Spaces are also bookable for events, meetings, training sessions or receptions. Add delicious catering to Liverpool’s most iconic backdrop and find out how our resident artists and creative businesses can make your event unique.
The Bluecoat is supported by Arts Council England. Thanks to the City of Liverpool for its financial support.
Registered charity number: 700862
