Clare Ellis

Clare is a self-taught artist based in Liverpool.  She is a member of dot-art in Liverpool and has been successful in displaying her work in the dot-art Pop Up Art Shop at the Met Quarter, Liverpool.  Clare was recently involved in a short promotional video by a film-maker which can be seen soon on the dot-art web page.

Clare uses acrylic paint on canvas and her style is dot painting.  Inspiration is taken from the study of Aboriginal art with a particular focus on colour, rhythm and flow creating hypnotic, mesmerising and visually stimulating imagery.  Her work has a delicate texture and depth of colour with curves, spirals and symmetrical shapes.  A recent painting - 'Blue and white windmill' - is freehand piece showing a methodical flow with an intricately detailed, fresh, contemporary design which draws the viewer in.
