Rosalind Hargreaves
Rosalind’s work explores the concept of person and place and the ‘wish landscape’. Utopia and dystopia are an ongoing interest in her work, through which she looks at the landscape we live, questioning the world pursuit of self-improvement and ‘perfection’. The natural beauty of the environment juxtaposed with the manmade is a continual theme underpinning her work, which takes the form of both two and three dimensional pieces, working n a number of materials including Perspex, paint, stone, clay, wood and resin.
As well as creating her own body of work, Rosalind is an experienced work-shopper and leader, often running group projects and fully able to work to a brief. Having undertaken Wild in Art Projects over the last three years, she has designed and executed the decoration of four floral-superlambananas, ten penguins and one rhino with groups from schools, community groups and youth centres.
Rosalind has shown at the Howarth, Rochdale and Stockport art galleries as well as in the Liverpool Biennial, She has also undertaken a number of commissions, created an alphabet book for Namibian children and designed a CD cover.
