Welcome back to Bluecoat’s Print Studio this autumn. We’re reintroducing courses gradually with a return to weekly courses in Spring 2022.

Join us in the Bluecoat’s dedicated Print Studios for workshops taught by leading print artists from the city for: Screen print, Linocut, Etching and a Christmas Special!

Sat 9 Oct: Introduction to Screen Print
Learn the screen printing process and produce a set of your own two colour prints.

This one day workshop equips you with the knowledge to be able to screen print from start to finish. No prior experience required, this workshop is also good for screen printers that require a refresher!

This workshop is only available for people 18 and over.

Sat 20 Nov: Introduction to Linocut
Develop your relief printing skills by learning how to produce mono and colour prints using vinyl.

Learn all about this versatile relief printing technique achieved by carving into a vinyl block which is then rolled with ink and printed. You will print a single black and white print and a two colour print all in one day.
This workshop is only available for people 18 and over.

Sat 4 Dec: Screen Printing Cards for Christmas
Learn the screen printing process and make a set of Christmas cards to take away.

This workshop is a taster of some of the techniques involved in the screen printing process- and you’ll leave with a set of christmas cards that you printed yourself to take away.

This workshop is only available for people 18 and over.

Sat 15 Jan: Introduction to Etching
Learn how to use the Bluecoat’s 100 year old intaglio press to produce etchings using both soft and hard grounds.

Etching is a printmaking technique that uses a chemical reaction to produce indents on a metal plate the indents hold ink that when put through a press with damp paper create a print.

This workshop is only available for people 18 and over.

All classes run 11.00am-5.00pm and are £50-£60 each.
