Janis Claxton POP UP Duets (fragments of love) 2018

The simplest way to support Bluecoat is to donate. Any amount can make a huge difference, everything we do is made possible with your support.

Ways to give

Donate online

Click here to make a donation today. Any amount you can give, will make a difference to Bluecoat.

Donate in person

During your next visit to Bluecoat please donate what you can into our donation boxes - we are grateful for every penny received. Or, if you’re short of change, you can use one of our contactless donation points. If you have difficulty locating a donations box, please ask one of our staff who will be happy to help.

Donate when you buy a ticket

The next time you book a ticket online or at Bluecoat for an event or activity, you can add a donation to your order. Our tickets are always free or low cost to help ensure anyone from any background can attend. If you value our events and can afford to make a donation then please do - it helps us to continue to make sure that cost is not a barrier for others.

Give As You Earn

Payroll Giving is a flexible scheme which allows anyone who receives their pay through payroll to give regularly and on a tax free basis to the charities and good causes of their choice.

Payroll Giving donations are deducted before tax so for every £1.00 that you give it will only cost you 80p, and if you're a higher rate tax payer it will only cost you 60p.

Regular support is vital to Bluecoat. As a reliable income stream, it means we can budget and plan for the future.

Find out if your employer offers Payroll Giving through the Payroll Giving in Action website.

Why do we need your support?

Building & Conservation

Bluecoat is the oldest building in Liverpool city centre. The building is highlighted specifically in the UNESCO world heritage site award. It is also Liverpool's greatest 21st century building having won more architectural awards than any other building.

Help us to open and operate the building, maintain, renovate and conserve the fabric of the building and make improvements.

Bluecoat was first inhabited by artists in 1906. They quickly established it as a multiple art form venue. Not only was this the first model of its type but Bluecoat has remained in the forefront of the arts through its 100-year history as the model has developed over that time.

No other art centre has the breadth of activities Bluecoat does. As well as artists based at the building we have a diverse community of creative industries including creative retailers. Bluecoat arranges contemporary visual art exhibitions, dance, literature, music and live art in the galleries, performance space as well as in the garden courtyard and other public spaces.

Please help Bluecoat to be able to continue to support and present a high quality pioneering and innovative programme of art.

The participation programme focuses on three strands, all of which aim to bring together artists and people in creative exchange or to engage people directly with aspects of the arts programme through facilitated participation.

Bluecoat needs support to widen participation and engage new people in creativity and the arts and to enable us to continue providing year-round opportunities for everyone in particular families and young people to engage with free, accessible creative activities in the building as well as to allow Bluecoat to develop its award-winning in-house and targeted neighbourhood participation projects (for example, Blue Room, working with adults with learning disabilities).
