Artists Talk: Harry Meadley

  • Wed, 01 Jun 2016
  • 6.00 PM - 7.00 PM
  • Tickets: £3/£2

Artists Talk is an event that sits somewhere between an artist talk and a stand-up routine.

More tragic than it is funny, rather than an artist talking about their work, it is more of a work talking about being an artist. Having been workshopped through previous performances at Spike Island, Bristol; Turf Projects, London; g39, Cardiff; and Eastside Projects, Birmingham; this will be the final performance that is filmed and ultimately presented as a video work that takes the form of a television-style one hour comedy special.

By attending this event you consent to being filmed and/or recorded. The artist is entitled to make full use of any film and/or recording in current or future media.

Harry Meadley (b.1990) is an artist based in Leeds. Solo shows include LEVEL 3, Spike Island Test Space, Bristol; LEVEL 2, Cactus, Liverpool; LEVEL 1, Paradise Row, London; Play It as It Lies, David Dale Gallery, Glasgow; and Stay Gold, Annet Gelink Gallery, Amsterdam. Duo shows include Moments of Zen, Turf Projects, London; hibition, Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun, Leeds; and Code Duello, Loods 6, Amsterdam. Recent group exhibitions include Italian and British artists meet Milan #2, BeatTricks, Milan; Display Show, Eastside Projects, Birmingham; Tuff Crowd, Picnic Picnic, Sheffield; Finite Project Altered When Open, David Dale Gallery, Glasgow; Cheese Cube, Toast, Manchester; Emotional Resources, NGCA, Sunderland; and The Panj Piare ASSEMBLE, Grand Union, Birmingham.
