Tambour Beading embroidery - Beginner | Sat 6 April | 10.30am - 4.30pm

This design will introduce you to the tambour beading embroidery stitch "chaintstitch" along with a variety of stitches that create this beautiful design. 

The design will also allow you to use Swarovski crystals, beads and sequins materials allowing time to learn all the hints and tips in order to achieve this design. 

This technique is used in Fashion and Costume mainly but could be associated with Goldwork to create beautiful embroidery.

Please note that the tambour hook is not included in the kit and will be available to be purchased after the class at £19.50.

Tambour Beading embroidery - Beginner | Sat 1 June | 10.30am - 4.30pm

Beginner Level

The Tambour Beading class is pitched towards a beginner. The first part of the class will be to learn the chainstitch on a transparent organza with the hook in the four directions.
The second part of the class will be the introduction of the buggles and seed beads. Finally you will learn how to stitch the sequins « en riviere » basic stitching for the sequins.
The aim of this tambour beading class is for you to feel comfortable with the hook and how to apply beads and sequins. Please note that if you would like to pursue this technique and move on to the next level it is recommended to practise tambour beading in between the classes.
This class includes a kit with white silk organza, glass beads, buggles and sequins. This technique is used in Fashion and Costume mainly but could be associated with Goldwork to create beautiful embroidery.
Please note that tambour hooks are not included in the kit and will be available to purchase during the class at £19.50.

Goldwork Embroidery - Beginner | Sat 17 Aug | 10.30am - 4.30pm

Beginner Level

The class allows students to learn the basics of Goldwork. Techniques to stitch the pearl purl will also be covered. The course will involve how to couch the passing and how to do essing with gold purl.

You will also learn how to make the Diamond motifs with a silver smooth purl and how to do the loops to create the flower.

The aim of this Goldwork class is to learn the basics of this technique to allow members to feel comfortable and ready for the next level.

This class includes a kit with white duchess satin, smooth and rough gold purls, silver smooth purl, gold passing, very fine pearl purl, needles and bee wax.

Combined Goldwork and Tambour Beading class | Sat 26 Oct | 10.30am - 4.30pm

Intermediate level

This class is pitched at an intermediate level student who has already attended the beginner in both Goldwork and Tambour Beading classes.

Please note that some pre-work for the class is required to allow for smooth progression during the class.

The aim of this class is to introduce a mix of the two embroidery techniques making them work together smoothly.

This class includes a kit with black organza, blue glass beads and buggles, sequins, very fine pearl purls (gold and silver), gold rough purl, gold passing, and blue embroidery threads.

Please note that tambour hooks are not included in the kit and will be available to purchase separately.
