Liverpool Arab Arts Festival

The UK's premier annual Arab arts festival is back with another amazing programme of events and workshops.

Each year, their festival brings a thrilling celebration of Arab culture to venues across the city and showcases the richness of Arab culture through a packed programme of visual art, music, dance, film, theatre, literature and special events. 

We're delighted to be host to several amazing events and workshops in this years festival.

Gesturing Refugees

Sat 6 Jul | 2-3pm

This interactive performance is intended to archive hidden stories of refugeehood using the bodies of refugee artists and audience members, while playing with other archive material, testimonies and imagination. A UK premiere, the performance is created by Palestinian dancer and choreographer Farah Saleh and collaborators, and is followed by an audience Q&A.

Write Yourself - Workshop

Sun 7 Jul | 2 - 4pm 

A two-and-a-half hour session is centred around a series of introspective questions from Dana Dajani’s guided journal, “Write Yourself”. The workshop will allow participants to deepen their self-awareness through writing, review, and reflection. No previous experience is required.

Find Your Voice - Workshop

Tue 9 Jul | 2-4.30pm

A workshop for poets and writers, this two-and-a-half hour session will reveal techniques to express your unique voice as a writer and performer. Participants will learn how to channel their artistic mission along with their values and style, to express any emotion through poetry, prose, or song.

CommaPress Present: Palestine + 100

Tue 9 Jul | 6.30 - 8pm


This event asks contemporary Palestinian writers: what might your home city look like in the year 2048 – 100 years after Nakba, the displacement of more than 700,000 people? With stories read by British Palestinian writer, Selma Dabbagh and Palestinian-Hungarian novelist, poet and author, Anwar Hamed.

Heroine with a Thousand Dresses

Sat 13 Jul | 7.30 - 8.30pm

This one-woman show, written and performed by Dana Dajani, is a journey through the diverse and eclectic wardrobe of Dana’s grandmother, a Jerusalem boutique owner, whose love of fashion was her mode of self-expression.

Join us for the World Premiere of this poignant, playful, and provocative performance
