The Bluecoat, Liverpool’s centre for the contemporary arts has secured capital funding from Arts Council England and the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority as the lead authority supported by Culture Liverpool at Liverpool City Council to develop the first floor Bistro.
The project will reconfigure the space to create an accessible, flexible Event Space consistent with the rest of the building being open during daytime and some evenings. Its versatility will allow configurations for different performances and events, both public and private uses, enabling us to better reflect our vision, mission and values.
Bluecoat is in Liverpool’s oldest building; a bustling cultural venue which sees 650,000 visits each year. Our city centre positioning, the heritage of our building and our hospitality business help us to attract an audience to Bluecoat which is diverse in age, gender, disability, ethnicity and socio-economic background. Bluecoat hosts a regular programme of exhibitions, live events, workshops and discussions covering a range of art forms including visual art, music, dance and literature.
We are seeking Principal Contractor Services to undertake the refurbishment works. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be involved in the development of a Liverpool institution.
