Artquest Peer Mentoring

  • Sat, 17 Sep 2016
  • 2.00 PM - 5.00 PM
  • Tickets: £4/£3

Artquest works with New Contemporaries to run a public programme of events to support artists in establishing their own peer mentoring groups, with an accompanying programme providing one to one advice sessions to the exhibitors.

Peer mentoring is an essential aspect of an artist's working life. Peer groups provide both the critical feedback necessary to develop work aswell as the encouragement that is the lifeblood of a sustainable practice. Artist Chloe Cooper talks about her own extensive experiences of peer mentoring, suggesting strategies and approaches to establishing a group and the benefits and challenges that come with it.

Chloe Cooper uses perfomative tours, lectures and instructional videos. Chloe has been part of a live art peer support group since 2008, co-led peer mentoring projects in association with Live Art Development Agency, Camden Arts Centre and Zabludowicz Collection and is currently leading practice sharing alongside the Learning team at Tate.

£4/£3, booking required - Includes refreshments
