Earth Day Print Party

Breathe new life into your old clothes for Earth Day with fun screen printed designs inspired by recycling, upcycling and reducing waste.

Time

2:30pm - 4:30pm

Date

Sat 13 April 2024

Sat 13 Apr, 2.30pm - 4.30pm

At this special Earth Day print party, participants will be upcycling their old clothes with printmaking.

Participants will be able to choose from a variety of fun designs based around the themes of recycling, upcycling and reducing waste. Children will be able to pull the screens themselves with a facilitator supervising if they choose to, or a parent/guardian can help. There will be ample time during the session for everyone to print their clothes and get creative, further personalising them with fabric markers if they wish too.

There will be activity packs available for £1.50 extra and the opportunity to leave the workshop to grab drinks and snacks.

All children must be supervised by an adult.

Each ticket admits one supervising adult and one child to participate. If the supervising adult would like to take part in the activity also, please purchase a materials bundle add-on ticket.

What’s Included

All printmaking materials are provided on the day and included in the price of your ticket.

We do ask that you bring your own clothes, bags or fabric to print on, although we may some available on the day from donations.

Please be aware that cotton fabrics will work best for this session.

What happens after the session?

You will be able to leave your printed clothes to dry after your session and pick them up before 5pm.

When you get home, you should iron over your printed areas to cure the ink onto the fabric. To cure your print, lay your clothing flat and print side up on an ironing board. Cover the entire print with baking paper or a tea towel and iron over it in a circular motion for 2-3 minutes, on the hottest setting. Your print should now be cured and ready to wear!
