This Spring, we’ve released a new collection of Bluecoat merchandise inspired by our secret garden.

The new Bluecoat Garden Flora & Fauna collection features illustrations of some of the varied animal and plant life found in and around the Bluecoat, including bumblebees, birds, flowers, and more. The designs were meticulously hand drawn and reproduced for our new t-shirts and tea towels. Perfect gifts for any nature lover!

We were able to identify some of the natural life in our garden with the help of Lisa Price from Root Houseplants, who has an incredible passion and knowledge for houseplants and nature. Lisa has been running Root since 2017, and offers an exhaustive range of plants, coupled with a service that fostered plant education, and a welcoming space for everyone. You can find Root located in our front courtyard, or visit their website here.

"The Bluecoat garden and courtyard is home to a lot of important native birds, plants and pollinators. As a city centre location we are incredibly lucky to have so many birds and bees especially; for example, the courtyard is home to early-mining bees which are considered fairly rare in urban areas. We have nesting Blue Tits and I've spotted at least 6 Goldfinches in the garden; it's truly a joy to share their space."

Our Garden is a secret haven of biodiversity in the bustling Liverpool city centre, and is looked after by a wonderful team of volunteers - we’re so grateful for the hard work they put into making our garden the beautiful oasis that it is.

The exclusive tea towels and shirts are available to buy from our shop, with all the proceeds helping us to maintain our beautiful building - the oldest in Liverpool's city centre.
