4.2 The credit/debit information you provide to purchase a Membership subscription will be used solely for processing the purchase of your Membership subscription.

4.3 We strongly advise against sending any financial/credit/debit card information via email. It is contrary to the rules of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) for us to accept credit/debit card payments by email and we will decline to accept payments by this method.

4.4 If you are not using your own credit/debit card to pay for a Membership subscription you must ask permission of the credit/debit card holder before submitting payment details.

Buying a membership as a gift

5.1 Gift membership must be activated within 6 months of the purchase date. Email development@thebluecoat.org.uk to ensure the correct name and email address is linked to your Membership subscription.

Your right to cancel

6.1 You have a right to cancel the contract formed between us (and receive a refund of fees paid) if you change your mind or decide for any other reason that you do not want to continue the Membership.

6.2 Your right to cancel starts from the date on which we confirm your application for a Membership subscription has been accepted, which is when the contract between us is formed. Your deadline for cancelling the contract is 14 days after the date on which the contract was formed.

6.3 To cancel a contract you need to let us know within 14 days that you have decided to cancel. To do so, you must contact us via email at development@thebluecoat.org.uk

6.4 We will make any refunds due to you as soon as possible if made within the first 14 days minus any relevant or applicable administration fees.

Our right to cancel

7.1 Bluecoat reserves the right to refuse any Membership subscription.

7.2 If you as a Member, or where you purchase a Gift Membership for another individual are thought to be in breach of these terms and conditions, Bluecoat reserves the right to not fulfil or cancel the Membership subscription.

7.3 On receipt of your application we will debit your card for the price as stated as applicable. However, acceptance of your application remains subject to approval by Bluecoat. At this point we will either confirm your application at which point a contract will be formed between us, or refuse the application.

7.4 If we are unable to obtain payment authorisation from the issuer of your card or bank and a Membership card has been issued, we will request you return the card and any forfeited benefits.

8.2 We will process your data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, Bluecoat's Privacy Policy, and as otherwise permitted or required by law.

8.3 The personal data you supply will be used to process the Membership application and, if your application is successful, to administer the Membership subscription and its benefits. Your data may be used for statistical and analytical purposes, for example analysing postcode data to identify the spread of the Bluecoat membership scheme.

8.4 You will receive Membership communications on a quarterly basis via an e-newsletter and from time-to-time we will, unless you instruct us otherwise, use your contact information to let you know about Bluecoat offers and promotions.
