Proposed by the Bluecoat, 'City of Radicals' became the theme adopted by the arts sector for 2011, with many exhibitions, performances and other events taking place across the city throughout the year. The arts centre collaborated with Professor John Belchem and Liverpool University Press on a book of essays interrogating the city’s radical credentials from 1911 to the present.
