Yoko Ono returned to the Bluecoat for the reopening of the new arts wing in 2008, having first performed at the venue in 1967. As well as exhibiting in the gallery, she presented another performance at Bluecoat, which was relayed live to the Big Screen in nearby Clayton Square, bringing her work to a much larger audience.
