Join us for the launch of ESEA Constellations, a roundtable exploring how East and Southeast Asian voices are shaping British art history through contemporary artistic practice, community-organising and archiving.
By focusing on connections and collaborations, this afternoon of talks, performance and conversation brings together artists, writers and thinkers including Annie Jael Kwan, Jennifer Lee Tsai, Sufea Mohamad Noor, Emily Beswick, Hester Yang and others to reflect on diaspora, collective memory and community-building through the lens of Liverpool’s historic Chinese and ESEA communities.
As ESEA artists’ work reaches wider audiences, how might the collaborations, networks and archives that sustain their practices shape our understanding of past and future? Through a collective mapping exercise, we’ll share perspectives, trace connections and imagine what comes next.
