Gabriella Chauke

Gabriella Chauke is a Group Management Accountant at Peel Ports Group and joined the Bluecoat board as a Development Board Member in January 2021.

Gabriella was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and moved to Milton Keynes with her family aged 4 where she attended primary school. Aged 11, she moved to Northern Ireland where she completed her GCSE’s at Lurgan College and A Levels at Grosvenor Grammar School. During this time, she enjoyed participating in school productions and was a dedicated member of both the girls’ choir and chamber choir.

From Northern Ireland, Gabriella relocated once again to attend Liverpool John Moores’ University where she completed a 4-year Accounting and Finance degree with a year-long finance placement at GE Healthcare in Buckinghamshire. The modules covered in the degree included Management Accounting, Financial Risk & Analysis and Financial Accounting. During the placement year, her main responsibilities included assisting with sales forecasts and profit and loss analysis for GE Healthcare Digital.

After this placement year, Gabriella completed an 8-week Business Improvement Internship at Campus Living Villages where she assisted with the formation ofa charitable organisation, CLV Foundation, by liaising with charity specialists and visiting and conducting research on other organisations who run a charity alongside their trading business such as Recycling Lives and Pret a Manger. The charity that was formed by Campus Living Villages helped students tackle financial debt, look after their mental health and promoted social inclusion.

Upon completion of her degree in 2018, Gabriellasecured a position at Peel Ports Group as an Assistant Group Management Accountant. She continued her higher education with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), qualifying as a Chartered Management Accountant in October 2020. At Peel Ports Group, Gabriella has undertaken various responsibilities including Fixed Asset Accounting for the Group and Management Accounting for the London Medway division.
