Storytelling with Gav Cross

29 July - 04 August 2021

Suitable for all ages but aimed at children 7 - 11 years old.

A group of primary school children gather in front of a performer, who is wearing a waist jacket, outside of the Bluecoat building.

Gav Cross hosted an hour of hilariously funny interactive storytelling on Bluecoat Platform.

1pm, 2pm and 3pm on Thu 29 Jul 2021

This event was part of our summer family events programme which was chosen by children from Holy Cross School in Liverpool.

For four weeks throughout the summer holidays, families enjoyed FREE storytelling, music, comedy for kids, designed to engage children of all ages.

Meet Gav

A theatrical performance in which a young girl points accusingly at a tall man, who has a shocked look on his face.

Gav is a storyteller, theatre maker & teacher who runs hilariously funny interactive storytelling sessions for kids. He’s a firm favourite at the Bluecoat, you may have seen him perform with comedy troupe Funny Looking Kids.

What was Bluecoat Platform?

Located in our front courtyard, this family-friendly outdoor sculpture was designed by children for children! Our after school arts club Out of the Blue worked with artists Simon & Tom Bloor to come up with this fun, interactive sculpture for the whole family to enjoy.

In Summer 2021, the sculpture became a stage for our entire family events programme!
