My name is Jack Welsh, a freelance arts administrator, researcher and writer currently based in Liverpool. A few months ago, Sara-Jayne Parsons, Exhibitions Curator at the Bluecoat, invited me to write a text for the Bluecoat exhibition Portfolio NW.

LIVERPOOL ACOUSTIC, in association with THE BLUECOAT and the LIVERPOOL INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL, present the Liverpool Acoustic Garden - two afternoons of chilled-out acoustic music in the garden of Liverpool's creative hub, the Bluecoat.
On Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th August, from 12.00pm to 4.00pm, the Bluecoat garden will be filled with the sound of fantastic music from sixteen of Merseyside's best acoustic acts. With solo artists, duos, singer-songwriters and instrumental guitarists, there's something for all tastes to enjoy. And it's all free!
So why not come along, grab a drink or a bite to eat, and sit back and relax in the Liverpool Acoustic Garden? It's what Bank Holidays were made for!
