Some of Bluecoat's retailers will be open from Monday 15 June. Retailers will be operating reduced opening hours and we recommend you contact individual shops for details. Our galleries, cafe and building remain closed at this time.

Located in the heart of Liverpool's shopping district, the Bluecoat houses a number of specialist independent retailers offering an eclectic range of beautifully designed handmade and unique products.

Stocking the best in contemporary craft, design, music, fashion and homewares, the shops at the Bluecoat should be your first destination in the city for the unique and the unusual. Use the links on the left hand side and below to see what each of our retailers make, sell and do.

Special dance project with Kinship Carers Liverpool

In the Palm of My Hand was a special project which drew together dance artist Paula Hampson and composer Chris Mellor with a group of women and children from Kinship Carers Liverpool, a registered charity that supports all members of kinship families in the community; carers, children and young people.

With support from Bluecoat, Hampson and Mellor worked creatively with members of the group to explore ways to raise awareness of the role of a kin carer through text, movement, music and film.

Their work culminated in a weekend of public performances at Bluecoat in February 2019 and a short documentary film made by First Take, which gives an insight into the project.

Please take the time to watch and share this film. Help us raise awareness of the plight of kinship families and spread the word about what happens when artists and communities come together.
