Could you use £10k to develop your creative practice?
On 11th January 2021 Arts Council England (ACE) will launch Round 9 of their fund for artists and creative practitioners: Developing your Creative Practice (DYCP). The deadline for DYCP Round 9 is 18th February at 12 midday.
In response to Covid-19, ACE made changes to this fund back in October to make it easier for a broader range of creative practitioners to apply. ACE recognises that many creative professionals will need to make changes to the way they make and distribute their work in the current climate. They have made millions more available in grants to demonstrate their commitment to individual practitioners. So there’s never been a better time for artists and other creative practitioners to apply for support of up to £10k (plus any access costs you might have).
If you’ve never applied to ACE before, or even if you have, we know this can be a daunting task. All ACE applications have to be made through their online portal Grantium - a system which takes a bit of getting used to. You need to set up a user account and profile before you can apply for the first time and someone at ACE has to approve new accounts. This can take up to 10 days. So, if you’re even considering applying our advice is to get onto Grantium right now and at least set up an account. Nothing to lose - right?
We’ve put together a few resources to help you decide whether DYCP is the right fund for you and shape your application.
We hope these resources will be of use - we’d be delighted to get your feedback at development@thebluecoat.org.uk
