Edward Rauer

Edward Rauer is a visual artist and storyteller. His artwork is often inspired by memories of his family and Irish heritage. He creates collages, ‘splashpaintings and wire sculptures.

‘I do collages, but I don’t put them together until I find out how they go. When I find out how they go, I stick them down. I arrange them the way I want. It comes out good in the end and it stands out.’

Limited edition screen prints for sale at the Bluecoat

Alongside Studio Me artists Alfred Beesley and William Richardson, Rauer has created a series of limited edition screenprints in the Bluecoat Print Studio. The works explore some of the ways our beloved 'secret garden' captures the creative imagination.

Studio Me

Rauer is part of Studio Me, Blue Room’s artist development project. Through this Rauer has received mentoring from artist Michael Lacey to develop his collage making techniques.

Recent projects

Recent projects include a collaboration with designer Holly Eliza Temple and fellow Blue Room artists; Lewis Scott, Alfred Beesley and William Richardson. The artists worked together to design an illustrated activity booklet that encourages young visitors to explore the Bluecoat’s garden.
